A cranial prosthesis is a medical-grade wig designed for individuals experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions such as alopecia, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or other health-related causes.
Unlike standard wigs, cranial prostheses are specifically created to provide comfort, security, and a natural appearance while supporting the unique needs of individuals with medical hair loss.
We offer direct billing for medical wigs (cranial prostheses) through select commercial insurance plans. Instead of handing you a receipt and sending you off to handle paperwork alone, we take care of the claim process from start to finish,, requesting the needed documents, submitting your claim, monitoring its status, and keeping you updated with clear, consistent communication. Coverage, reimbursement, and final approval depend on your individual insurance plan.
Hair loss that may qualify can include (but isn’t limited to) hair loss from chemotherapy or radiation, alopecia (areata, totalis, universalis), lupus, thyroid disorders, trichotillomania, burn injuries, and other medically documented causes.

Our virtual consultations make the custom wig process private, convenient, and supportive from the comfort of home and for medical wig patients, a consultation is required to ensure the safest, most comfortable fit. During your appointment, we guide you through easy at-home measurements, discuss scalp sensitivity and coverage needs, and map out your ideal look based on your lifestyle and preferences. We also use AI-assisted tools to support customization by translating your measurements and selections into clear build specifications—helping refine cap fit, density, part placement, and overall design with greater consistency and precision. By blending real human care with smart technology, we reduce guesswork and deliver a secure, natural-looking unit that’s tailored to you from start to finish.
